Iceland is one of the most intelligently run countries on the planet by my perception. I recently discovered that horse is part of their diet in some areas. There was a time that this fact would of disturbed me, but it doesn’t bother me a bit now. Judgement loss is quite the gain against disturbances. I’m reckoning it tastes pretty damn good if prepared to a certain long accepted method of preparation. Don’t get me wrong for I do love horses, but I also loved the cows we raised when I was a little feller. Yes, I loved those cows that ended up on the table for Sunday dinners. They were as nice in the field as their were in my belly. Oh, this band is from Iceland.
Their song, Salt, is easily one of the better songs that I have listened to. Considering that I don’t understand a word of the lyrics, that is a fairly decent feat. This song simply has a flow of energy to it that percolates a sweet calming ancient mellowness through out my being. I’ve like their other material, but this song just does it for me. I’ll share the song and a couple others after band links.
Salt in English (found after write up) Pretty fucking awesome as well.
WHEN YOU ARE OLD
When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;
How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim Soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face;
And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.
