Blue Bells

Blue Bells

A thin tied suit exclaims
“She has all the bells and whistles!”
Staring at the window, I ponder.

He must be mad
Hell is this living to a bell
This toll of bells
Wake to a bell
Eat to a bell
Schooled to a bell
Work to a bell
Worship to a bell
War to a cracked bell
Heaven’s bells best be stone
where not a rooster crows
No mas, no mas

Sound of a text alert
startles my phone
“Loan Approved”
A warm rush draws
a sly foxed deviled grin
as turning to the suit
“Do you have one in blue
with all these bells and whistles?”
