It seems fitting that this body’s senses would lead me to share a group from France. A body that desires not a single virgin at it’s passing. A body that observes the endless creation of martyred saints by murdering saints. The blame is endless, so why even start the pointing of fingers. Will not the killing of killers simply enslave their desire to conquer this earthly realm for pleasures in another realm of idea and fantasy? How can this body hate another form of which it’s own dependence on idea and fantasy has pushed it to see another day? No matter the folly in it; conditioned narrow minded spirituality soothes fear of the unknowable leaving the fool wrapped in a warm blanket of ignorance inoculating a fooled conscience. The vulnerable wise are easy prey to hearts schooled by fear . The heart in this body feels the troubles of the world this morning, but with diseased conscience must let it go by way of savaged, silent surrender.
This band is another fresh find for the writer. I have gone to a less mechanical way of discovering bands to share here. The mechanical way that I had been using since starting this blog has fallen due to boredom of it. There are so many damn great sounding bands that it has become futile to accumulate a list from which to draw from. I found that I was relying on the past and a system that just wasn’t as natural or as enjoyable to me as going with a more non mechanical flow. Or maybe it is just simply laziness. I can’t really write much on this band, because I don’t read or speak French. I’m grateful that they perform in English. They are a self described rock band. Rock they do and I’m letting their rock; party this body of mine. :).
The first video reminds me of the game my oldest son has been playing. He is home on break from college and has been playing “Last of Us”. “Skywalking” goes with the flow of that game with the zombie angle of it. The second video is probably my most favored from this band. I feel influence of the late 70’s, early nineties and plenty of fresh strokes intertwined with this one. Probably could say that about the third as well and most of what I have heard form Von Pariahs.
A free press can be good or bad, but, most certainly, without freedom a press will never be anything but bad. ~Albert Camus
Every burned book enlightens the world. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
If you don’t have this freedom of the press, then all these little fellows are weaseling around and doing their monkey business and they never get caught. ~Harold R. Medina
Assassination is the extreme form of censorship. ~George Bernard Shaw
The test of democracy is freedom of criticism. ~David Ben-Gurion
To limit the press is to insult a nation; to prohibit reading of certain books is to declare the inhabitants to be either fools or slaves. ~Claude-Adrien Helvétius
If we don’t believe in freedom of expression for people we despise, we don’t believe in it at all. ~Noam Chomsky
We are not afraid to entrust the American people with unpleasant facts, foreign ideas, alien philosophies, and competitive values. For a nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people. ~John F. Kennedy
“A lot of people still think this is some kind of game or signal or spin. They don’t want to believe that Obama wants to crack down on the press and whistleblowers. But he does. He’s the greatest enemy to press freedom in a generation.”~James Risen
