Little Green Cars-03/08 Underground Band of the Week

Little Green Cars is a five piece group from Dublin, Ireland.  Most of the artists, I share on here are long shots for commercial success.  It is a long shot, for this group, not to have commercial success. Many great sounding groups or artists are victims of poor timing. They are either five years to early or five years to late to the scene. I have the opinion, that the Little Green Cars should benefit from great timing due to the commercial success of groups like The Lumineers and Mumford and Sons. Little Green Cars possess harmonies and melodies on par with the fore mentioned groups, but when they use electricity, their material comes across, as very powerful and sets them a part, at least for me.

This group has received lots of love from numerous outlets, and their debut album “Absolute Zero” has been out since last July. The album is produced by Markus Dravs who has proven to be one of the best out there.  I had a friend on Facebook share Imagine Dragons, yesterday, a band that has numerous videos viewed well over 10 million views, and have been out about the same time as this group. It is amazing to see what a group can do, when they have huge corporate machines supporting their efforts. I promise you, that if you forget about Imagine Dragons, that you will see them advertised on YouTube while watching other videos. It is a shame that a band, on the level of Little Green Cars has not gained similar view-age.  Regardless of any view-age race, I believe Little Green Cars will still be making sweet, powerful music, long after the corporate machines have lost their use, of Imagine Dragons.

This band has been around since at least 2008. The lead vocalist is Stevie Appleby who also plays the guitar. Faye O’Rourke is on vocals and guitar. Adam O’Regan is on vocals and guitar as well. Donagh Seaver O’Leary plays bass, while adding vocals and Dylan Lynch is the drummer and adds vocals as well.

The first video “The John Wayne”is the the first release from their debut album “Absolute Zero.”  The second video “Harper Lee” is their second release.  The third video is “Grow”. This song is like a pure drug, without any cut.  No electric, just pure vocal talent, performing like a well oiled machine.
